FSR is a 501c3 nonprofit providing Scene Support & Rehab Services when First Responders are at a scene for an extended period of time.
Our services include providing drinks, food, medical monitoring, restrooms, heated/air-conditioned bus, & more. FSR volunteers respond to calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Fire Scene Rehab, formerly Bexar County Emergency Scene Rehab, was established over 20 years ago by our Chief Bobby Briggs. He recognized a need in this field since he is a first responder himself.
FSR is a grassroots organization that has become a staple for first responders in and around San Antonio.
FSR provides cold drinks for rehydration such as water and sports drinks.
Coffee and hot chocolate are also provided, typically in cold weather months.
FSR brings snacks to all scenes.
FSR will often coordinate meals for extended scenes by contacting local businesses and negotiating donations and/or reduced pricing to provide hot meals to personnel on scene.
FSR has created custom portable restroom trailers equipped with a restroom, lighting, and a hand washing station. At least one trailer is brought to every scene that FSR responds to.
FSR provides a heated / air conditioned bus which allows first responders to rehab away from the weather elements while still on scene.
FSR is equipped with other equipment utilized based on specific scene support needs. Some examples of additional equipment are canopies, tables, seating, lighting, cooling towels & more.
FSR provides scene support to firefighting personnel during extended scenes including multiple alarm structure fires, apartment fires, hazmat, rescue calls, and more.
FSR provides scene support to law enforcement during extended scenes including standoffs, shootings, search and rescue, officer-involved shootings, & more.
FSR extends support to other local emergency personnel when needs arise and as resources are available.
FSR has participated and/or sponsored several events for the local community and attends both community and school events upon request.
