About Us

Our History

Our History

FSR is a 501c3 nonprofit providing Scene Support & Rehab Services when First Responders are at a scene for an extended period of time. 


Our services include providing drinks, food, medical monitoring, restrooms, heated/air-conditioned bus, & more. FSR volunteers respond to calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Our History

  Fire Scene Rehab, formerly Bexar County Emergency Scene Rehab, was established over 20 years ago by our Chief Bobby Briggs. He recognized a need in this field since he is a first responder himself. 


FSR is a grassroots organization that has become a staple for first responders in and around San Antonio.

FSR provides cold drinks for rehydration such as water and sports drinks. 


Coffee and hot chocolate are also provided, typically in cold weather months.

Food supplied for SAPD Cadets during search and rescue operation.

 FSR brings snacks to all scenes.

FSR will often coordinate meals for extended scenes by contacting local businesses and negotiating donations and/or reduced pricing to provide hot meals to personnel on scene.

Two custom, portable restrooms for first responder scene support.

FSR has created custom portable restroom trailers equipped with a restroom, lighting, and a hand washing station. At least one trailer is brought to every scene that FSR responds to.

Scene support and rehab bus.

FSR provides a heated / air conditioned bus which allows first responders to rehab away from the weather elements while still on scene.

FSR is equipped with other equipment utilized based on specific scene support needs. Some examples of additional equipment are canopies, tables, seating, lighting, cooling towels & more.

 FSR provides scene support to firefighting personnel during extended scenes including multiple alarm structure fires, apartment fires, hazmat, rescue calls, and more.
